WPC wood sunscreens are shading systems that, when applied to windows or entire facades, shield the building from solar radiation, moderating the rise in temperatures inside the structure and thereby improving its energy performance.
Where to position sunshades?
Sunshades should be applied especially to the walls most exposed to the sun and UV rays.
How long does it take for WPC sunshades to fade?
Thanks to the protective action of PVC, the use of certified pigments, and brushed or striped matte finishes, the color of profiles exposed to UV rays shows minimal degradation upon initial exposure, after which it stabilizes. In particular, no significant shade changes are recorded after 5 years.
How often should sun shades be cleaned?
WPC wood Versatilis sunscreens require minimal maintenance. After the initial application, cleaning with high-pressure water below 80 bar is sufficient. The aesthetic appeal remains unchanged over time. In any case, in’Technical Area A short maintenance and handling manual for the slats is available.
What are the advantages of WPC compared to wood?
WPC is self-extinguishing, fire-resistant, and weather-resistant. In addition, the wood-polymer composite does not need protective painting, does not crack or splinter, is moth- and mold-resistant, and is supplied in custom lengths down to the millimeter.
What is the impact of WPC production on the planet?
WPC composite wood is 100% recyclable and is made from wood flour, which—in the case of Woodn Greenwood products—is FCP-certified® to the short supply chain. All waste material is transformed by us into new raw material, which we reuse for the production of new profiles: this is how WPC composite wood combats global deforestation.
